Feeling the Pressure

I am overwhelmed- uttlerly and completely! I need to prepare for a temp to come in, train and finish all of my work...all without knowing when the little one really will be ready. That is hard. I need to feel prepared even though I am in such a transition. I am worried that the temp will do better than me---or doing worse than me...I am just in a state of stress. I haven't felt good all week. I keep trying to tell myself that there is nothing I can do but try my best and let be what will be. I know I can't control when the baby comes, but I feel like I should be able to control everything else to some extent.

ICK. I just feel ICKY!

I'm sure it won't do anything to ease your stress, but just in case - there is a statistic out there that in 2004, only 8.3%-10.7% of Maine mothers delivered before week 37. That's among the lowest in the nation. So there's at least an 89.3% chance that you've still got a couple solid weeks left to prepare, if you believe the data.

Has your dr checked for any signs of effacement? If not, or if s/he has not seen any signs or you are in the beginning stages, you likely have a way to go. No worries. You will get it all done. And if you don't, it means that you'll have given birth to your Baby, and you won't care! LOL!!

Don't worry about the temp being better than you - without you, your employer wouldn't be able to get out of bed in the morning.

That is an amazing percentage!

There is no possible way that your temp could do better than you. I know it's scary...

Do you have any prospects at all?

It's true, when Baby comes, you're not gonna care about any of that stuff, or even remember it! Your health and the little one's are all that matter! (((HUGS)))

Denise honey, the more you worry, the more you put stress on the baby. When you're ready, you're ready. You don't want to get your blood pressure up, so (and I know it's easier said than done) but calm down. You have done everything right, and everything will be fine. Each day that passes, your baby gets stronger and stronger, and if he or she is as strong as you are (and I'm sure that's the case), even if the event comes early, their strength and yours will see you all through. Rest up my dear, you will need your strength.

And as far as your temp goes, I have worked with many, and can safely say you will have nothing to worry about. Even if the temp is good, which some can be sometimes, they will never be as good as you. You are the best at what you do, so don't worry. Just focus on having a happy healthy baby.
